Success starts with the team behind it
Quality engineering. Straight communication.
That's been the whole recipe since 2014 — and it's taken us from a one-man garage operation to a specialist trusted by high-security sites, major transport operators and the biggest events in the country.
Our story
Built the hard way, grown the right way
RedteQ began in 2014 when Alan Redpath started out as a single contractor engineer, fixing the machines others walked away from. The approach — solve it properly, say it straight — quickly set us apart, and the business grew on reputation alone.
Today, a focused back-office team supports a field and onsite workforce of more than 20 technicians and engineers, running 40+ major contracts nationally and several internationally, from our 8,116 sq ft facility in Farnborough, Hampshire — just off the M3, ideally placed to reach customers fast.
- 2014 — Founded
Alan Redpath starts RedteQ as a single contractor engineer, working from a garage.
- 2018 — First employee & Parliament
Growth brings the first full-time hire — and our first major contract, supporting the explosives trace detectors at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster.
- 2022 — The Games & growing pains
140+ X-ray machines installed for the Commonwealth Games with 24-hour cover; the team quadruples and moves to bigger premises in Hook.
- 2024 — The big move
Now 20+ staff and 40+ major contracts, RedteQ moves to a large 8,116 sq ft facility — workshop, lab, offices and demo area under one roof.
- 2026 — Exclusive Hissco partnership
Appointed exclusive UK & Ireland distributor for Hissco International X-ray systems, announced at Passenger Terminal Expo; AI-automated checkpoints deployed from Formula 1 to championship golf.

At the Commonwealth Games — where months of installation work paid off in a safe, smooth Games.

Reduced downtime
Reliable engineering that keeps critical security equipment operating at its best, shift after shift.
The friendly bit
Serious about security. Not about ourselves.
Our engineers have installed checkpoints overnight at racetracks, crawled inside X-ray tunnels (occasionally feet-first — see photo), kept screening running mid-Atlantic on cruise ships, and still find time for the local sixth-form careers day. We put RedteQ labels on every machine we service — partly so you know who maintains it, mostly because we're proud of the work.
You'll meet us in person at The Security Event at the NEC in Birmingham and the International Security Expo at Olympia London — come and say hello, the kettle metaphorically never goes off.
